Solo Roaming in Delve

Delve is one of the laziest regions of the game, mostly due to the massive wealth of Goonswarm. Hundreds of careless carebears, ripe for the picking. In this article, I will outline some of the tactics that you can use to kill billions in Delve.

Also, by utilizing Bee Control, solo pilots can easily make billions killing excavators and other large targets in Delve. Some pilots receive 2-3 billion ISK in bounties per day.

Targets

For the lone wolf, there are a few easy targets that you can hunt.

  • Cyno ships. These are people that are moving their capitals around. They can usually be alpha’d off the field.
  • Excavators. These are mining drones worth a billion each, and killing one can net you a 100 million isk bounty from Bee Control.
  • Ratters. Vexor Navy Issues and Rattlesnakes litter Delve, and most of them are completely unaware of their surroundings.
  • Deployables. Mobile Tractor Units and Mobile Depots are everywhere, and you can easily kill 20-30 in an hour.

Tools

Personally, I like to utilize two tools for punishing Delve carebears: Command destroyers and Tactical destroyers. With these two ships, you’ll be able to wreak havoc and kill billions of ISK per day.

Command Destroyers

These are used to target Excavators by jumping them off of Goon rorquals. Simply ship up and start running around to asteroid belts throughout the region. Every now and then, you’ll find somebody who might as well be asleep at their keyboard. Boosh off their excavators, and kill a few billion.

Keep an eye out for the following dangers,

  • Rorqual combat drones. If they are mining in packs, these can eat you alive.
  • Gatecamps. Most of the time, goons can’t properly tackle a target. Practice escaping and you’ll be fine.
  • Remote shield boosters. They’ll try to repair their drones, just jump them off again and they’ll be out of range.

If you bring some buddies alongside you in bombers, you’ll be able to nuke excavators before they can repair them.

Tactical Destroyers

These are great for targetting deployables and ratters. Most of the time, Vexor Navy Issues are completely AFK, and you can just probe them down in their sites. You’ll even find systems with 10-30 mobile tractor units, which can have some nice loot in them.

With a command destroyer, you’ll easily be able to punish poor piloting whenever you encounter a gatecamp. Most of the time, you can seperate light tackle and obliterate it. These are carebears, not combat pilots.

Other Content

I won’t give away all of my secrets, but by utilizing bombers you’ll be able to punish a wider variety of targets. As stated earlier, there are Rattlesnakes, battleships, and even empty carriers autopiloting around Delve. The only way to punish them is to get out there and roam around.

Conclusion

If you’re looking to improve your gameplay and get some solid kills, stage a few of these ships in Querious, Aridia, or other lowsec regions. You can even chill out in one of the several stations in NPC Delve space, PushX will deliver whatever you want up there. In only a week, my corporation has killed easily over 25 billion ISK, and collected a great deal of bounties in Bee Control.
