Digital Wellbeing is a term that has started to pop up on mobile devices lately, and it’s pretty simple- you need a break from certain applications. And EVE Online is no different.
In this article we’re going to go over setting up the Digital Wellbeing setting on your phone, and why it’s important.
Why bother?
In Krypted, we have a mix of players all over the world- which means that Discord is buzzing at any hour of the day. This can get pretty annoying if you’re an EU player getting woken up in the middle of the night because Bear is rage-pinging, or if you’re a US player just trying to catch some Z’s when our EUTZ tackles a carrier in the morning.
By setting up this setting on your phone (there’s no application to download), you can mute certain applications at certain hours of the day (maybe during sleeping hours when your phone is charging) so that you don’t get woken up by an angry Bear. Not only is this good for EVE Online, but it’s great for disconnecting from work as well.
Instructions
Available on both iOS and Android, you’re going to find Digital Wellbeing in your settings.
The setup is pretty universal across devices.
- Go to settings
- Find Digital Wellbeing
- Add a “Bedtime Mode” (mine is 12AM – 8AM when my phone is charging)
- Go to your Do not Disturb settings
- If you have certain people, alarms, or applications that should wake you up, set them up there (on-call alarms, morning alarms, your mom calling)
Boom, just like that you’ve got a healthier phone-life-balance.
